Our TV movie pick tonight (Sunday, June 7) is The Game, the 1997 mind-bending thriller starring Michael Douglas.
The film follows Nicholas Van Orton (Douglas), a super-wealthy banker who gets gifted a mysterious “live experience game” by his estranged brother (Sean Penn); but it turns unsettling very quickly.
Nicholas finds his life completely unravelled, from money, identity, and even safety, it all starts slipping away as the game bleeds into reality.
Soon, he's left trying to figure out who’s messing with him, what’s part of the game, and whether he’s still actually in control at all.
While the film didn't like the box office on fire upon release, but it has built up a strong reputation since thanks to its paranoid atmosphere, twists, and “nothing is what it seems” vibe.
The Game airs on Legend Xtra tonight at 9pm.
