Netflix has just added a star-studded legal thriller

The thriller stars two Oscar winners.

Netflix has just added The Judge, the star-studded 2014 legal drama starring Robert Downey Jr. (Oppenheimer).

The Oscar winner plays Hank, a hotshot Chicago lawyer whose personal life is a mess. After his mother's death, he returns home to Indiana for the funeral and reconnects with his family.

This includes his brothers, Dale (Jeremy Strong, The Apprentice) and Glen (Vincent D'Onofrio, Daredevil), as well as his estranged, stern father, Joseph (Oscar-winner Robert Duvall, The Godfather), who is also a local judge.

On Hank's arrival, he and Joseph quickly butt heads over their shared history. The son angrily storms off, vowing never to return home.

Before he can make it to the airport, however, Hank is told that Joseph has become a suspect in a murder case. The lawyer eventually decides to represent his dad in court.

The cast of The Judge also includes Billy Bob Thornton, Dax Shepard, David Krumholtz, Leighton Meester, and Vera Farmiga.

The movie did decent business at the box office but slightly underperformed with critics. It received mixed reviews and only one Oscar nomination for Duvall.

We'd argue it's a very entertaining film, thanks to its brilliant cast and its mix of family drama and courtroom thriller.
