The Menu, one of JOE's favourite thriller movies of recent years, is airing on TV tonight (Saturday, 18 July).
Together, the pair board a boat to an exclusive restaurant on a private island operated by celebrity chef Julian (a fantastic Ralph Fiennes, 28 Years Later).
Produced by Adam McKay and Will Ferrell (Anchorman, The Other Guys), The Menu is a deliciously dark and twisty thriller that also doubles as a smart satire on several contemporary topics. These include fine dining's obsession with celebrity chefs and exclusive experiences, the link between art and commerce, and the divide between the haves and have-nots.
Also, if you're going to watch the movie tonight, we'd urge you to have a snack with it, as looking at Julian's less sinister dishes will make you hungry.
The Menu is airing on TV tonight on Channel 4 at 10.55pm. The thriller is also streaming on Disney+.

From director Mark Mylod (Succession) and co-writer Will Tracy (Bugonia), the film stars Anya Taylor-Joy (The Northman) as Margot, a young woman asked out for a date by the wealthy foodie, Tyler (Nicholas Hoult, The Order).
What at first seems like an experience in ultimate fine dining quickly turns into a nightmare. Julian and his maître d' Elsa (Hong Chau, Wuthering Heights) introduce a series of increasingly unsettling courses, revealing that they have a dark plan in store for all their patrons (with other guests played by Janet McTeer, John Leguizamo, and Judith Light).
