Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is finally getting a home release, giving audiences a chance to revisit the epic without heading back to the cinema.
The film will be available to rent or buy digitally from 17 November, with the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray arriving on the same day, Variety reports.
That comes exactly four months after the film first hit cinemas on 17 July, meaning Nolan and Universal have given it a much longer theatrical run than many major releases now receive.
The approach is similar to Oppenheimer, which also spent an extended period in cinemas before becoming available to watch at home.
For Irish viewers who went out of their way to catch The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm over the summer, there is now a confirmed date for another viewing.
The nearly three-hour film, which brings Homer's roughly 3,000-year-old epic to the big screen, has already had a huge cinema run, passing $700m at the global box office and becoming one of 2026's major releases.
There is still no word on when the film will arrive on a streaming service, while Universal has not announced separate release dates for individual countries.
For now, Irish viewers can expect the digital release to arrive through the usual platforms on 17 November.
