Our TV movie pick for tonight (Friday, 12 June) is The Sparrow, the IFTA-nominated 2022 Irish thriller drama.
When Kevin inadvertedly causes a terrible tragedy, he keeps his involvement a secret. The teen then struggles with guilt "as his world unravels and consequences mount".
Praised upon release for its performances, rich themes, and tense atmosphere, the movie holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film was also nominated at the IFTA Awards in two categories: Best Actor, for newcomer at the time Ollie West, and Best Sound.
The Sparrow is airing on TV tonight on RTÉ One at 9.35pm. It's currently unavailable to rent or stream so now is the time to watch the movie.

Betty Gilpin stars in this modern, loose updating of The Most Dangerous Game that we've recommended before.
Queer - BBC Two - 11pm
Daniel Craig is excellent in this 2024 adaptation of William S. Burroughs' novella of the same name, directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, Challengers).
Man on Fire - Legend - 11.10pm
Scott Glenn stars in this '80s action thriller movie, which later got a more famous remake starring Denzel Washington.
Thelma & Louise - RTÉ One - 11.25pm
Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon are best friends on the run in this iconic buddy comedy-drama from director Ridley Scott.
