A stylish Viggo Mortensen crime thriller movie is on TV tonight

Harvey Keitel and Viggo Mortensen star in the thriller film, which is currently not available to stream or rent.

Released in 1993, the film sees Keitel play John Harris, a New York City drug enforcement officer who travels to London to help ineffective local policemen battle a powerful drug cartel.

Harris needs to put behind bars American ex-pat Carl Frazer (Mortensen), who recruits rebellious young teens as foot soldiers in his criminal enterprise.

"With help from British officer Edward Foster (Iain Glen, Game of Thrones), Harris must navigate London's seedy, drug-fueled underworld to take down Frazer's operation," the plot synopsis adds.

Directed by Danny Cannon (Goal!, Judge Dredd), The Young Americans was not a big hit upon release.

That said, it has garnered a cult following in the decades since, thanks to its cast (which also includes a young Thandiwe Newton), its soundtrack, its cinematography, and its blending of American and British crime flicks.

The Young Americans is airing on TV tonight on the channel Legend at 9pm. It's currently not available to stream or rent, so now is the time to watch or record the movie.

Director Rob Reiner and writer Nora Ephron's legendary rom-com about two long-time acquaintances (Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan) who start to have romantic feelings for one another.

The Pope Exorcist - Film4 - 11.05pm

Russell Crowe is a Vespa-riding Italian exorcist who works for the Pope in this very good, Ireland-shot horror.

Escape Room - BBC One - 11.10pm

In this very fun horror thriller, a group of young people travel to a mysterious building to take part in "the escape room", a game where players compete to solve a series of puzzles, with the winner getting $10,000.

What starts as seemingly innocent fun soon turns into a living nightmare, however, as the group discovers each room is an elaborate trap that's part of a sadistic game of life or death.

Ryan Phillippe and Benicio del Toro star in this 2000 crime thriller, which was the directorial debut of Christopher McQuarrie (the last few Mission: Impossible films, including the aforementioned Rogue Nation).
