For anyone that fancies a part with Conor and Jock.

Throughout the history of The Young Offenders – both the film and the TV show – we’ve been introduced to some wonderful characters and while the likes of Conor, Jock, Billy Murphy, Mairead, Linda, Siobhan, Principal Barry, and Sergeant Healy take the centre stage, there are some, erm, colourful, supporting characters that are hard to forget.

Remember the granny that flashed during the opening credit sequences? How about all those angry Corkonians in the Christmas special that were hanging out with Robert Sheehan on the barricades? What about the brilliant finale to Season 1 when everyone was Billy Murphy?

Aside from this, Cork’s famous fish market has also seen a plethora of interesting characters pass through.

Well, if you’re a fan of the wonderful show and would like a chance to be in it, you’re in luck because they’re looking for some fresh faces for Season 2.

As mentioned previously, the producers will be holding open auditions and they’ve finally settled on a date.

For anyone that has not already applied through their online application portal, an open casting will be held on Wednesday, 24 April at The Metropole Hotel, MacCurtain Street, Cork City.

The official posting states: “All ages and ethnicities please come along. If you can’t make it, don’t worry! We are extending the deadline for the online application below to Friday, 26 April.

“Online applicants and open casting applicants will be viewed in the same way by our casting team. So again, if you have sent an online application don’t trouble yourself to attend the open casting.”

If you’re interested, you can learn more here.

Best of luck with your application, boi.

With regards to Season 2, Alex Murphy (Conor) and Chris Walley (Jock) told JOE that they’ve a few ideas about what they would like to see unfold.

We can’t wait.
