A new series of This Is England has just been confirmed

Rudi Kinsella

Great news for fans of the show.

This Is England first reared its head on the big screen, with the much-loved 2006 film.

Since then, there has been three TV sequels: This is England ’86, This Is England ’88, and This Is England ’90.

And fans of the the series will be happy to hear th we can now add This Is England: ’92 to the list, which is officially in the works.

The news was announced by Thomas Turgoose, the actor who plays Shaun Fields in the popular franchise, on his Twitter page on Saturday afternoon:

As it stands, there is literally no more information about the series, but we can only hope that Shane Meadows will be behind the camera, as he was for the other three seasons of the show.

Either way, we’re excited for it.

Turgoose himself is somehow now 27 years of age, which both makes us feel absolutely ancient, and makes us want to watch the incredible clip of his first audition all those years ago.

Magical stuff.
