Three massive Hollywood stars are coming to Dublin for a very special screening of their new movie

This is one Trainwreck that we cannot wait to see

Paul Moore

This is one Trainwreck that we cannot wait to see.

The chances are that if you’ve found yourself laughing in a cinema during the last decade or so, then you were probably watching a Judd Apatow movie.

Very few writer/directors have been as as influential on the cinematic landscape in the way that the Freaks and Geeks creator has been, and his filmography reads like a seminal list of comedy films that you really do have to see.

Superbad Dicks

The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up and This is 40 are just some of the films that he has helmed himself, but Apatow has done so much more.

His creative input and fingerprints are all over films like Anchorman, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Superbad, Step Brothers, Bridesmaids… the list goes on.

The funny filmmaker is this generation’s Harold Ramis, something that we don’t say lightly, and film fans are in for a treat because he’s coming to Ireland with a brand new film, Trainwreck.

Apatow is renowned for finding and championing new talent – Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd and James Franco will testify to this – and it looks like he’s going to continue this winning streak with the stars of Trainwreck.

We’re already massive fans of Bill Hader here in JOE Towers , check out Hot Rod if you can, while Amy Schumer is deservedly becoming the new face of comedy in Hollywood.

The three talented stars are coming to The Savoy, Dublin, on Friday 14 August and if you want to get your hands on tickets to the excellent event for just €11, they’re available to buy right here.

This special summer screening is all part of the new-look Dublin International Film Festival, which will take place from February 18 – 28, 2016. For more information on the fantastic festival, check out the official website by clicking here.

Here’s just a taste of what August’s awesome screening has in store…
