The Tommy Tiernan Show was watched by more viewers last weekend than The Late Late Show.

On Saturday, 13 March, 453,000 viewers tuned in to RTÉ’s improvised chat show to watch Tiernan in conversation with broadcaster Eamon Dunphy, singer Tolu Makay with poet Felispeaks, and mental health professional Joe Slattery.

Music was provided for the episode by Lisa O’Neill.

On last Friday’s Late Late show, meanwhile, guests included actors Allen Leech and Seána Kerslake, singer Nathan Carter and band Dea Matrona.

This is the first time since its 2016 launch that The Tommy Tiernan Show garnered more viewers than the long-running The Late Late Show.

Now in its fifth season, The Tommy Tiernan Show has five episdoes left to air this series.

You can tune in to its next episode on Saturday, 20 March on RTÉ 1 at 10.15pm.

Meanwhile, The Late Late Show St Patrick’s Day Special will air Wednesday at 9.30pm on RTÉ 1.
