Watching this trailer, it really does feel like it couldn’t be any more topical and timely if it tried, as it deals with someone attempting to expose a government for lying to the public in order to get away with doing whatever they please. Sound familiar…?
Whichever side of the pond you’re reading this on, then you’ll still be able to find the parallel’s in the latest movie from the award-winning filmmaker behind 2015’s incredible Eye In The Sky.
This time around, in another true story, we see a British whistleblower (Knightley) who has leaked information to the press about an illegal NSA spy operation designed to push the UN Security Council into sanctioning the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
From there, everything begins to spiral out, as governments and journalists squeeze her from either side for their personal gain. Between the topic, the director, Knightley’s steely leading turn, and that hugely impressive supporting cast, we imagine this movie will make for some major talking points when it is released later this year.
