#TRAILERCHEST: The Young Offenders looks like it might be one of your new favourite Irish films

Eoghan Doherty

“If you’re under the age of 16, you’re classified as a young offender, which basically means you can’t get in trouble…”

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for The Young Offenders.

Plot’s it all about?

The Young Offenders, inspired by the true story of Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure back in 2007, is an Irish comedy about badly-behaved best buds, Conor and Jock, two Cork bais who have a real knack for getting into all sorts of trouble.

After hearing that a single bale of cocaine worth a whopping €7m has gone missing from a capsized boat off the coast of West Cork, the mischievous pair decide there’s only one thing to do… find the coke and return it safely to the proper authorities sell it for a massive profit.

Check out the film’s first teaser trailer below, which already has us doing those weird snort laughs out our nose. That’s a good thing, in case you were wondering.

If you’re one of the lucky ones, you may have got your hands on a ticket to see the film’s premiere at the upcoming Galway Film Fleadh on 8 July.

If not though, you’ll just have to hang on until September. It certainly looks like it’ll be worth the wait.

Starring: Alex Murphy, Chris Walley, Hilary Rose and an almost unrecognisable P.J. Gallagher.

Directed by: Peter Foott

Irish release date: 16 September 2016

Enjoy…
