Excellent as usual from the Aprés Match boys.
TV viewers in Ireland have been inundated with programmes related to the general election in the last few weeks, but to describe some them as entertaining would be stretching it just a tad.
There was welcome relief from what we’ve become accustomed to last night with the Aprés Match Election ’82 special on RTE 2.
Laughs were in plentiful supply as the usual crew shared nostalgic clips from the campaign trail from over 30 years ago, with current celebrities (played by the Aprés Match cast, of course) adding their memories into the mix too.

Aprés Match always gets a good reception but there seemed to be an extra outpouring of admiration for their efforts last night; after all, with footage of a devilishly handsome Des Cahill as seen in the picture below, what’s not to love?

I know nostalgia is at the root of my reaction, but I genuinely never have laughed as much at an RTÉ programme as I did at #AprèsMatch. 👏👏👏
