He’s throwing his hat into the ring for the leadership of the Labour Party.
Mind you, in true political fashion, he talked about putting his name in for the leadership of the Labour Party while doing his best not to talk about it and seemed unsure about who exactly was going to nominate him for the leadership.
Kelly, who was Director of Elections for the Labour Party in the recent General Election, labelled their performance in the election as “disastrous” and to be fair to Ryan Tubridy, he didn’t give him an easy ride.
The Tipperary native also addressed his perception in the public eye and the infamous quote about power being a drug that suits him, attributed to Kelly in a Sunday Independent interview, which attracted a lot of notoriety at the time.
