Well said.
It being only the second weekend of the New Year, there’s a decent chance you stayed in last night and if you did, you may well have been watching the Late Late.
For one part of the show, a panel made up of well-known figures from a variety of backgrounds – Broadcaster Ivan Yates, artist Robert Ballagh, writer Martina Devlin and Blindboy Boatclub from artists The Rubberbandits – were invited on to discuss the upcoming Easter Rising commemorations.
It was an interesting debate between Ryan and his four guests, but Blindboy Boatclub of the Rubberbandits, who recently made a fascinating documentary about the 1916 Rising, most certainly stole the show.
In the clip above, Blindboy Boatclub discussed the reasons behind the making of the documentary, the attitudes towards those involved in the Rising and how it should be commemorated this year.
His words on the topic, and on the current state of Ireland elsewhere in the discussion, made a lot of sense and his contribution was the subject of plenty of deserved kudos on Twitter last night.
Good craic on the late late. Was hard to get a word in though. Discussion should have been 2 hours long and included audience questions.

.@Rubberbandits Fair play to Blindboy Boatclub, made more sense than the rest of the panel. Someone who actually understands the people.
