Video: Does this trailer for the upcoming Postman Pat movie deliver?

Yes, there is a Postman Pat movie coming and yes, it is very different to your childhood memory of Greendale.

Yes, there is a Postman Pat movie coming and yes, it is very different to your childhood memory of Greendale.

Only 13 episodes of the original stop-motion series of Postman Pat were made in 1981 and while there have been more than a few revivals since then, there has never been a movie. Until now.

Due for release in May, this CGI, 3D version of Postman Pat is unlike the show you may have grown up with. Stephen Mangan provides the voice of Pat and the plot revolves around Pat being replaced by robotic delivery men, as well as a singing contest that Pat enters, judged by a fella called Simon Cowbell. Nice.

Obviously aimed at a younger audience, the vocal talents of Rupert Grint, David Tennant, and Jim Broadbent are also employed and it is certainly one of the more charming trailers we’ve seen in 2014 so far.

We look forward to reviewing it when it is released later this year.
