Video: How much did all the damage caused in Terminator 2 cost?

It turns out that Terminators really hate $10 locks

JOE

It turns out that Terminators really hate $10 locks.

The lads at Cinema Sins like to watch movies, but when they do, they go all out and pay a lot of attention to what’s going on in painstaking, excruciating detail. While that might not be of much use in general, the odd time it comes in extremely handy, like when they decide to look through an old movie and calculate how much damage is done in big action movies.

This week, they turn their attention to the iconic Terminator 2 and, using the 1991 dollar values, calculate how much money those two pesky time-travelling robots would have caused with all their feudin’ and a-fussin’. Oh and if you haven’t seen Terminator 2 yet then look away now, as this quite clearly has spoilers. On a related note, what the hell have you been doing with your life if you haven’t seen this movie?

They calculate everything from the small $10 locks (which both Terminators seem to destroy indiscriminately throughout the movie) right up to the giant trucks that they write off, not to mention the pool cues, various windows and walls that got smashed in the making of this movie.

If you want to read a full and incredibly detailed break down of the costs, then you can head to Cinema Sins and get really nerdy on it, although they do have an amazing explanation of how they calculated the costs of the Terminators themselves which involves numbers to the negative power of other numbers. This makes us happy.

Hat-tip to Laughing Squid for the video
