Olympus has Fallen sees Gerard Butler trapped in the Whitehouse trying to save the President of the United States

Gerard Butler plays a disgraced former Secret Service agent Mike Banning, who finds himself trapped in The Whitehouse as terrorists take the president. Of course, he is the only one who can help from within the building…wait this sounds like the first Die Hard with a president thrown in… and why do they keep firing these guys if they are so useful?
Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) plays the President, Ashley Judd (Double Jeopardy), his wife and Morgan Freeman (Narrator for everything, ever) is Speaker Representative for the White House. Agent Banning works with National Security to rescue the president and avert an even bigger disaster – but what could that be? Angela Bassett (What’s Love Got to Do with it?) plays the head of the Secret Service who deals with Banning and the tense situation.
This movie looks like all the best action movie cliches are present – the president holds a grudge against Banning, who will inevitably save his life (they even show Butler running out of the White House with Eckhart in the trailer) , Banning gets to say “with all due respect” before saying something smart arse and of course, the officials question whether they can trust this guy. Add to that some guns, explosions and some nasty foreigner terrorists and you have a recipe for success for some dumb, fun, action. Excellent.

Olympus has Fallen is directed by Antoine Fuqua, who made Training Day and Shooter. The movie is due for release on April 19.
