#TRAILERCHEST: The Villainess will do for The Raid what Atomic Blonde did for John Wick

There is a sword fight. On a motorcycle. A SWORD FIGHT ON A MOTORCYCLE, YOU GUYS!

There is a sword fight. On a motorcycle. A SWORD FIGHT ON A MOTORCYCLE, YOU GUYS!

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the new teaser trailer for The Villainess.

Plot it’s all about: Back in 2011, we innocently had zero idea about how infinitely cooler action cinema was about to get with the arrival of kinetic and ultra-violent The Raid: Redemption. The epic sequel followed suit, and ever since then Hollywood has been trying to keep up.

The closest they’ve gotten to bottling that lightning has been with the epically cool John Wick series, which has since given a lot of very obvious influence to the recent gender-flipped fight-fest Atomic Blonde.

Not to be outdone in the kick-ass lady department, Asian action cinema are following suit with the insanely brilliant looking The Villainess.

Trained from a very young age to do nothing other than be the world’s greatest killer, a young woman has been given the chance to live a normal life, but when her violent past catches up with her, she has to take matters into her own hands.

But let us be serious here, the plot means very little, it is all about the amazingly choreographed action sequences. And on top of all of the OTT madness, we really feel that the motorcycle-bound sword-fight needs to be mentioned again. And again. And again and again and again…

Starring: Ok-bin KimHa-kyun ShinJun Sung.

Directed by: Byung-gil Sung.

Release date: 15 September 2017.

Enjoy!
