We promised ourselves we wouldn’t cry again…

The first episode of Ireland’s Got Talent got off to a pretty great start on Saturday night, with the eclectic judging panel of Louis Walsh, stand-up comedian Jason Byrne, actress Denise Van Outen, and RuPaul’s BFF Michelle Visage having some cracking chemistry together, as the acts came out in a bid to impress them enough to get to the next stage.

One of those acts was 81-year-old Evelyn Williams from Tallaght, who came out and sang ‘Send In The Clowns’.

But before then, we got the little introduction video telling us more about Evelyn, and there wasn’t a single dry eye in Ireland by the end of it.

Add that to her heartfelt, emotional rendition of the song, and that was it, we were destroyed.

WE’RE ONLY HUMAN!

Once she’d finished singing, she received a standing ovation from the entire crowd and all four judges, which prompted Michelle to push the button that means Evelyn automatically goes straight on through to the semi-finals.

Evelyn responded “My husband would be very proud of me here tonight. I hope I deserved it.”

Oh God, here come some more tears! And we weren’t the only ones…
