WATCH: Beyoncé and Donald Glover sing ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ in latest teaser for The Lion King

This is what fans having been waiting for.

25 years ago this month, The Lion King first arrived in cinemas, going on to make almost a billion dollars at the box office, and is still considered to be one of (if not THE) best movie that Disney have ever made.

Among the many accolades it picked up along the way were two Oscars, one of his was for Best Original Song, for the track ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’, co-written by Elton John, and it too is considered one of the best tracks ever produced by Disney.

Jump forward to 2019, and director Jon Favreau is directing the remake of the story, having had huge success with a similar makeover for The Jungle Book in 2016.

He has amassed a hugely impressive cast for this new take, but the headliners are two supremely talented entertainers who are more than capable of handling the task of the powerful song: Donald Glover and Beyoncé, who play Simba and Nala.

Fans of the original have been highly anticipating the moment when we’d finally get to hear these two singing the hit song, and the latest teaser for the movie gives a small glimpse of that scene, and it is safe to say they absolutely nail it.

They won’t win the Oscar again this time (the song is no longer “Original”), but we fully expect their version of ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ to be played on every radio station A LOT this summer.

Plus we still have ‘Circle Of Life’, ‘I Just Can’t Wait To Be King’, and ‘Hakuna Matata’ (which Glover will be singing with Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner!) to enjoy in full, too.

The Lion King arrives in Irish cinemas on Friday 19 July.
