The new comedy features stars from The Commitments, Father Ted, Love/Hate and The Fall.
Having received a tremendous response at the Dublin International Film Festival earlier this year, which resulted in the movie's writer/director Rachel Carey taking home the Discovery Award, new Irish comedy Deadly Cuts is finally getting a cinematic release.
The movie revolves around a group of stylists at a Dublin hair salon who take on the local criminal element when they threaten to take down their business, only to then discover that the future of their employment might require them to win a huge hair styling award.
The cast includes Angeline Ball (The Commitments, Shameless), Ericka Roe (Herself, Dublin Murders), Lauren Larkin (Love/Hate), Shauna Higgins (Dating Amber, Red Rock), Victoria Smurfit (Once Upon A Time, Marcella), Aidan McArdle (Black 47, The Fall) and Pauline McLynn (Father Ted).
Following on from recent Irish hits like Redemption of a Rogue and The Boys From County Hell, it is great to see homegrown talent getting to stretch their darkly comedic wings once again.
Deadly Cuts is released in Irish cinemas on Friday, 8 October.
