The brand new trailer gives us our first look at Barry Keoghan in the epic sci-fi tale.
In a year that has already given us WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and is about to give us Loki, Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, perhaps the most mysterious of all of 2021's releases within the MCU is Eternals.
Marvel and Disney have just released the very first trailer for the movie, which seems to lean in hard on the science fiction and big ideas of creationism and influence, while not giving too much away yet in terms of action scenes.
Directed by recent Best Director Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao (Nomadland), the movie stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kit Harrington, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, and Ireland's own Barry Keoghan, telling the saga of the Eternals, a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilisations.
Outside of that, we don't know too much more about the plot, although we do know from this trailer that they're aware of the Avengers, and their need for a new leader.
Plus, something must have happened on Earth, or perhaps in our universe in general, for one of their ranks to remark: "Throughout the years we have never interfered, until now."
Eternals is due to arrive in Irish cinemas this November.
