WATCH: The Mountain from Game of Thrones lifts Ed Sheeran over his head like a rag doll

Paul Moore

Game of Thrones

Crush him!

Swords couldn’t kill him. The Red Viper couldn’t kill him. Dangerous infection couldn’t kill him. An invading army couldn’t kill him.

Ultimately, Cleganebowl was settled by The Hound pushing his older brother The Mountain off the top of those stairs in King’s Landing and into the engulfing fire below.

Now that’s a badass way to meet your maker.

While Ser Gregor Clegane certainly left a memorable legacy of destruction, murder, and violence, Ed Sheeran’s brief time on the show left viewers hoping that his character would be killed off.

Yep, his take on a Lannister soldier still doesn’t feel right.

Anyway, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, aka The Mountain, recently bumped into the singer and they had a quick catch up. Well, Björnsson caught Sheeran in his grip and hoisted him over his head with effortless ease, but it seems like they were having the craic.

As for the fate of Sheeran’s character, fans might remember a conversation in the Season 8 opener when Bronn talks about a soldier named “Eddie” when he’s hanging out with three ladies in a brothel.

The girls gossip about the Lannister army’s defeat by Daenerys Targaryen and mention some soldier that had his face horribly burned by dragon fire. “That boy Eddie came back with his face burned right off. He’s got no eyelids now.”

Ed Sheeran vs The Mountain.

It’s the new Cleganebowl.
