WATCH: Netflix’s new show, The OA, is the series you’ll be binging on over Christmas

Alan Loughnane

It looks intense…

If you liked Stranger Things and Black Mirror, then you’ll love the new Netflix original series The OA.

The show follows a young, missing blind girl in her twenties Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling), who comes home to the community she grew up in with her sight restored.

Some hail her recovery and return as a miracle whereas others see her as a dangerous mystery and this is heightened by the fact that Prairie won’t talk about the seven years she was missing with either her parents or the FBI.

The cast members include Emory Cohen (Brooklyn, The Place Beyond the Pines), Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead, Junebug), Phyllis Smith (The Office), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, Fury, Dig), Alice Krige (Star Trek: First Contact, Silent Hill), Patrick Gibson (The Tudors), Brendan Meyer (Mr. Young, The Guest) and newcomers Ian Alexander and Brandon Perea.

The show is available exclusively on Netflix from Friday, December 16.
