It’s set to hit cinemas on 17 December.

The long-awaited teaser trailer for Spider-Man No Way Home has finally been released, and it looks even better than expected.

The trailer came a day after Sony Pictures clamped down on an alleged leak of the trailer on social media, with the studio taking to Twitter on Tuesday to thank fans who had avoided the leak.

“Shout-out to the real ones who are watching the trailer for the first time right now,” they said.

The long-awaited trailer features Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland) after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, now struggling with his secret identity having been revealed by villain Mysterio (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) to his girlfriend MJ (played by Zendaya Coleman) among others.

In the trailer, Parker seeks out the help of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to cast a spell to go back to a time when nobody knew Spider-Man’s identity.

After a warning from Doctor Strange’s sidekick who calls the spell “too dangerous”, the Doctor agrees not to go ahead with the spell, however, he does anyway which quickly leads to chaos and the return of villain Otto Octavius (played by Alfred Molina).

The Marvel film is set to hit cinemas on 17 December.
