Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins on the movie’s rollercoaster “Irish moment”

Wonder Woman

There’s always one…

As people from Ireland, there’s nothing we unashamedly love more than claiming absolutely anything and everything as Irish.

Have a great-great granny from Mullingar? You’re one of us now, Bruce Springsteen.

Once sniffed a pint of Guinness? Here’s a passport, unnamed C-list Hollywood celebrity.

Redacted for legal purposes because it’ll just make the joke too politically messy

And that’s why, after watching the brand new fun-filled, action-packed adventure Wonder Woman 1984, we had to ask director Patty Jenkins about the particular moment in the movie that’ll inevitably result in a rollercoaster of emotions for every Irish person watching.

In this brand new sequel to 2017’s box office smash hit, Jenkins fast forwards Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor to the 1980s, where everyone’s favourite Themysciraian warrior finds herself facing two all-new foes…

Max Lord (Pedro Pascal) and The Cheetah (Kristen Wiig).

*BOOOOOO hissssssssss*

Recently announced as the director of Star Wars Rogue Squadron (news that broke AFTER this interview had taken place), Patty Jenkins sat down to chat about the possibility of a third Wonder Woman movie, the Kristen Wiig movie that “blew her mind” and answers the question of whether or not film fans should be keeping an eye out for some hidden Easter eggs in Wonder Woman 1984.

Enjoy…
