Fully in support of this decision. Well played, Hollywood!

Okay, so let us take a look at who we’ve got so far.

Director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, War Of The Planet Of The Apes) behind the camera, and also writing the screenplay.

Robert Pattison as The Batman himself.

Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, Casino Royale) as Commission Gordon.

Jonah Hill in a currently unconfirmed role (the good money is on The Penguin, but… The Riddler also seems like a good fit?).

And now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that several sources have announced that Zoë Kravitz has been cast as Catwoman.

Apparently the casting process had been whittled down to four, including Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels), and Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), but following a script read with Pattinson, the decision was made to cast Kravitz in the iconic role.

Kravitz is no stranger to blockbusters, having previously starred in Mad Max: Fury Road, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, and X-Men: First Class, as well as showing off her acting chops in both seasons of Big Little Lies.

Kravitz will be following in the big-screen footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer (amazing), Halle Berry (not amazing), and Anne Hathaway (shrugs) in the iconic role.

The Batman is due to arrive in Irish cinemas on 21 June 2021.
