You stay classy San Diego… Harrison Ford joins the Anchorman 2 cast

Good news for fans of Anchorman and Harrison Ford, as the two are uniting for some comedy antics.

Harrison Ford is making us mighty pleased over here in JOE Towers. Not only is he in talks to return as the legendary Hans Solo in the new J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars Episode VII, but now he has confirmed that he will also join our favourite news team in whales vagina San Diego. The Hollywood Reporter announced the news that he will join the cast of Anchorman: The Legend Continues last night.

The 70-year-old actor will play a newscaster called Tom Brokaw, alongside Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and Steve Carell in the sequel to 2004’s Anchorman. Ford already has some experience playing a news anchor, in the J.J. Abrams produced 2010 comedy Morning Glory with Rachel McAdams and Diane Keaton.

The Adam McKay directed comedy has already started shooting in Atlanta and Ford joins other newcomers to the cast including Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) and James Marsden (X-Men). Ford looks to have a busy schedule in the next year as he has also signed on to star in the Jackie Robinson baseball biopic 42, thriller Paranoia and sci-fi/ action movie Ender’s Game.
