Adele played to 200 fans in a pub this weekend to prove she hasn’t forgotten where it all began

Hello?

Carl Kinsella

The venue was called Joe’s Pub and everything.

Things got very intimate for Adele and handful of her fans in New York on Friday as the superstar songstress took to the stage of Joe’s Pub in NYC to play to a crowd that’s maybe, oh, one-billionth the size of the crowd she could draw.

The ‘Hello’ singer was promoting her new album 25, and doing it in a way that proves she hasn’t forgotten her roots. Seven years ago she released her debut, 19, and played in this very pub for her US debut which can be seen below.

While it’s astonishing that a singer-songwriter can go on to create such wonderful opportunities for herself, it’s even more heart-warming when those superstars stay so firmly grounded despite their meteoric rise.

Although how that crowd coped with ‘Hello’ up so close and personal is beyond us but it’s rumoured that Jon Bon Jovi, Dianna Agron from Glee and Winston Marshall of Mumford and Sons were in attendance at the gig.

She followed up this intimate gig with a pretty chilling performance on Saturday Night Live, she’s definitely one to look out for in the future (in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past 6 years)…
