“When you have a voice like yours, you may want to consider being more responsible with promoting bullying, especially given what’s going on in the world today.”
Avril Lavigne has jumped to the defence of her former husband Chad Kroeger and his band Nickelback after Mark Zuckerberg poked fun at them in a recent video on Facebook.
Promoting the new (and very impressive) Artificial Intelligence system he has rigged up in his house, which is called Jarvis and which is voiced (in the demo version at least) by Morgan Freeman, Zuckerberg asked it to play “some good Nickelback songs”.
Zuckerberg’s request met with the response, “I’m sorry, Mark, I’m afraid I can’t do that. There are no good Nickelback songs,” to which Zuckerberg replied: “Good. That was just a test.”
Some might consider it a light-hearted dig, but Lavigne responded to it with a post on Twitter on Thursday, saying that Zuckerberg’s joke was “in poor taste,” a post that tagged the band and four anti-bullying organisations and has been retweeted over 5,300 times at the time of writing.
