Pitchfork have listed their 200 best songs of the 2010s

Rory Cashin

Hard to argue with the number one spot.

While we are still a few months out from the end of the year, and the decade, Pitchfork have decided to announce what they consider to be the best 200 songs of the 2010s.

Perusing the list, there are plenty that you may have never heard of – even in the top ten, there might be one or two that will cause a lot of readers to respond with a “Who?” – but there are also plenty of huge hits on here, too.

Although some may be surprised by the positioning of some of the biggest songs of the decade, with Icona Pop’s ‘I Love It’ rocking up at No. 197, Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ at No. 171, and Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ way down at No. 152 (shut up, its a great song, don’t @ me!).

There is also a clear indication, both from the top ten and the overall list, that we are very much living in a time when hip-hop and R’n’B are ruling the roost, thanks to a huge roster of massively varied artists all performing at the top of their game.

You can check out the full top 200 here, or the top ten below:
