Blink 182 are set to record a new album in the next few weeks

All the small things are falling into place once again for the lads...

All the small things are falling into place once again for the lads…

There are certain bands that seem to capture a unique moment in time and Blink-182 are most definitely one of them.

The San Diego band were the epitome of catchy pop-rock tunes, skateboarding counter-culture and wearing Vans, so many Vans.

JOE didn’t need to feel any older but after hearing the news that their breakout album Enema of the State is over 15 years old it’s official, we’re ancient.

The pop-punkers haven’t been sitting idly by on their mountains of money though, we presume they all have one, because they headlined Reading and Leeds this summer and are now set to make a new album.

The record in question will be the band’s seventh effort and follows on from 2011’s Neighborhoods.

Speaking to Wondering Sound, frontman Tom DeLonge said Blink-182 have their “very first big writing session” coming up where they’ll “get together and lay down our first tracks” for the release.

DeLonge added that they hope to release the album “by summer”, “but we will see”.

While Blink-182 might not be everyone’s cup of tea there’s no denying that they do have some incredibly catchy tunes.

This is still our favourite though.
