It’s time to celebrate the quiet men.
Lynx Black is all about celebrating the quiet men. Those who cut through all the noise with their immense talent.
Hozier, you are one such man.
You let your epic musical talent do all the talking and we thank you for it.
Without further ado, here’s the profile of one of our favourite quiet icons…
The beginnings
Andrew Hozier-Byrne’s journey to super-stardom is littered with interesting side-bars. From dropping-out of Trinity to pursue a music career, to fronting a slightly avant-garde group called Nova Collective, the Bray native always seemed to be producing the unexpected.
During his time at Trinity Hozier performed as lead vocalist of the Trinity Orchestra and he was pretty amazing too.
From 2009 – 2012, he toured with the Irish choral group Anúna. Sit back, listen and be impressed. This is excellent.
The next step
Hozier released the Take Me to Church EP in 2013 and quickly blew onto the mainstream. The EP contained the now infamous title track, as well as Like Real People Do, Angel of Death, The Codeine Scene and a live version of Cherry Wine.
The public were well and truly staggered by this guys’s huge talent.
Super-stardom
His follow up EP ‘Eden’, and subsequent self-titled debut album saw Hozier become a household name. His understated persona and visible maturity quickly endeared him to the public at both home and abroad.
Grammy nominations, as well as performances on an array of TV shows were next for Hozier. His performance at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show personified his subtle coolness.

We can’t wait for the next chapter in the Hozier story, but one thing is for sure, it will be done on his terms.
An immensely talented man, who has always let his talent do the talking.
