LISTEN: Calvin Harris drops surprise mini-EP with former Fifth Harmony singer
The soundtrack to your summer winter has arrived.
While former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello dominated the hotter months of the summer with her solo work, that now-on-hiatus group has another singer going out on her own and she has got the world's most in-demand producer right behind her.
Normani has already had a hit single this year - 'Love Lies' with Khalid has stayed in the US charts for a few months now - and has now released the Normani x Calvin Harris mini-ep, with two tracks to be enjoyed.
First up is 'Checklist', a dancefloor banger that also features WizKid (who you should know from working with Drake on 'One Dance'), and the second track is 'Slow Down', which is Normani performing on a track alone for the first time in her career, and is the sexier track of the two.
Considering the fact that Camila's debut album and early singles featured production by the likes of Skrillex, Pharrell Williams and Ryan Tedder, the gauntlet was down for Normani to pick up.
Calvin Harris is a great first step towards a potentially great first solo album, and if Normani can keep this level of quality up, we could be looking at one of the best pop albums of recent year.
