They were joined by a number of other artists.
A few weeks after they packed out Croke Park, Coldplay have released the music video for their new single filmed entirely on Grafton Street.
Chris Martin took to the busy shopping street before the band’s sold-out shows for an impromptu performance on Thursday, August 29.
The frontman was joined on Grafton Street by artists Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna and TINI, where they performed their song ‘We Pray’ to the hoards of onlookers.
While some onlookers were confused as to why they were playing the same song over and over (not realising it was for the music video), the final product of the music video is very impressive.
Coldplay play surprise Grafton Street gig ahead of Croke Park stint
For the release of the single, a press release reads: “All four of the song’s guests accompanied Coldplay for a surprise street performance of WE PRAY on Dublin’s Grafton Street, shutting down the street on the evening of August 28th.
“They then performed the song together live at the first of the band’s four sellout nights at Dublin’s Croke Park.
“Videos of the two performances have contributed to more than 230 million views for WE PRAY across social media. And now a full video from their Dublin pop up is available on YouTube.”
The gigs were the first time the band has performed the GAA stadium since 2017.
Maggie Rogers and Dublin native Aby Coulibaly opened as support for their stint in Dublin.
The English band began their Music of the Spheres World Tour in March 2022 and have since sold over eight million tickets.
