EXCLUSIVE: The brand new, breathtaking video for ‘In the Moment’ by Delorentos

Conor Heneghan

Delorentos

The first (and probably the last) video Delorentos have recorded in the middle of a polar vortex.

Irish music fans are no strangers to the sights and sounds of Delorentos, who have been a very welcome presence on the scene for well over a decade.

Ahead of the Choice Music Prize next month – True Surrender has been nominated for album of the year – the lads have released a brand new acoustic version of their recent single ‘In The Moment’, complete with a beautiful video filmed all the way across the water in the Big Apple.

We featured ‘In the Moment’ as a JOE Song of the Day not so long ago, a song described by the band as a bright, inspiring and melodic paean to capturing, immersing yourself in and living for NOW.

In the new video, filmed by local videographer Kevin Chiu, with the Manhattan skyline providing a spectacular backdrop, Kieran, Ross and Ro braved temperatures of -10 degrees during the recent polar vortex, with their fingers just about remaining intact throughout.

Keep an ear out for the guitars starting to detune around 1:30 into the video below.

The band were in the US to participate in Tourism Ireland’s North American launch of the ‘Fill Your Heart’ campaign, which features the now classic anthem ‘Home Again’.

Delorentos will be heading to Spain for live shows later this month; you can keep track of all of their movements on Facebook here.
