Guitarist for the group, Carlos O'Connell, accepted the award on behalf of the rest of the band, who were not in attendance at last night's event in London’s Roundhouse.
Upon accepting the award from Rizzle Kicks’ Jordan Stephens, O'Connell began: "Thank you, thank you very much, yeah, thanks from all of us, the other boys are somewhere else, what a night.
"I don't know, I just think, there's only a couple of words to say here, it's kind of weird, it's the first time it's been said all night, but, I'm just going to say Free Palestine, Free Palestine, Free Palestine, f*** Netanyahu, and f*** Zionism, free Palestine," he continued.
The Irish post-punk band beat out other highly acclaimed albums for the award, such as 'Brat' by Charli XCX, and 'On Purpose, With Purpose' by Ghetts.
The critically acclaimed album, which was released on August 23, debuted at number two on the UK album chart and received two nominations at the 67th annual Grammy Awards due to take place early next year.
