Singer George Michael died on Christmas Day at the age of just 53.
George Michael died from a mixture of heart and liver problems, an inquest his death has revealed. The singer passed away on Christmas Day at the age of just 53. An initial post-mortem proved to be 'inconclusive' but it has now been revealed that he was suffering from a form of heart disease as well as a fatty liver. Oxfordshire’s senior coroner Darren Salter said in a statement: "Inquiries into the death of George Michael have been concluded and the final post-mortem report received. "As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further enquiries. "No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy."Explore more on these topics:
