We’ve all fantasised about having one of the country’s best bands play our house party, and Hermitage Green made that came true in Limerick this week.
Hermitage Green set a precedent for this kind of thing late last year when they played a set at a house party in UCD, and this time there was a good cause behind it.
Frontman Dan Murphy announced that the band was playing the show close to the University of Limerick to raise money for Corbett Suicide Awareness.
After a raucous opening, he announced: “So, just to give a background on this; we do genuinely want to make as much of this as possible by raising a couple of quid for Corbett Suicide Awareness.
“This is the second house party we set up in today and the first one was cleared out prematurely, so I’d say we’ve got about five minutes before the SWAT team gets here. Let’s make the most of it!”
He then proceeded to invite Keith ‘Weenz’ Ryan up to join them, and things really got going.
We badly wish we’d been there.
