The two lads even shared a drink together.

There was no ‘Escape’ for a fan of Enrique Iglesias after he was plucked from the crowd at the 3Arena to join the Spanish singer on stage on Sunday night.

Declan McKenna, from Newbridge in Kildare, got pulled up on stage after telling Iglesias that he could speak Spanish. Given the fact that the singer has a plentiful supply of Spanish tracks in his back catalogue, the Dublin crowd were expecting to hear a few tunes en español but the penny quickly dropped for the ‘Bailamos’ singer.

After getting onto the stage, Declan openly admits that he doesn’t have a single word of Spanish in his head but after pulling up a chair next to the Spanish singer, it’s clear that the main stage suits Declan.

After quickly becoming friends with Iglesias, the singer then pours him a glass of rum which the two lads knock back instantly.

“Every time I come to Dublin, I go out, get hammered and have the time of my life,” said Iglesias before launching into his tune.

To quote Enrique Iglesias’ biggest hit, ‘Hero’.
