Kurt Cobain HBO documentary will be accompanied by a book

Montage of Heck is released in April

Montage of Heck is released in April.

The first fully authorised film about the life of Kurt Cobain will be released this April with a book to accompany it.

Montage of Heck has been in development since 2006 and has been presided over by Frances Bean Cobain, Kurt’s daughter, who is acting as executive producer.

HBO describes the film as a “no-holds-barred access to Cobain’s archives, home to his never-before-seen home movies, recordings, artwork, photography, journals, demos, personal archives and songbooks.”

The accompanying book features rare photographs from Cobain’s own personal archive and exclusive interviews, which also appear in the film.

Best of all, Montage of Heck will feature lots of previously unheard material from the former Nirvana frontman, who died by suicide in April 1994 at his home in Seattle.
