Liam Gallagher has announced a huge arena tour to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of Definitely Maybe.

Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ now-iconic debut album, which was released in August 1994. The record featured songs such as Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’, ‘Live Forever’, ‘Supersonic’ and arguably marked the start of the Britpop era, whilst propelling the Manchester band to stardom.

After a weekend of teasing the news on social media, Gallagher has now confirmed a tour to celebrate the album’s anniversary, including three massive homecoming gigs in Manchester.

Perhaps most excitingly, the 51-year-old has revealed he will be performing Definitely Maybe in full for the first time, along with some “select B-sides from the era.”

As part of the announcement, it was confirmed that Gallagher will be playing Dublin’s 3Arena on June 23 and 24.

Who knows whether he decides to treat fans to some special shows as well, and it has surely not gone unnoticed by the former Oasis frontman that the show in Manchester’s Co-op Arena is right next to the home of his beloved Manchester City, the Etihad Stadium.

And whisper it quietly, but the tour finishes the day before Glastonbury starts…

Announcing the news on Monday morning, Liam said: “I’m bouncing around the house to announce the Definitely Maybe Tour. The most important album of the ‘90s bar none.

“I wouldn’t be anywhere without it and neither would you, so let’s celebrate together LG x”

His representatives said: “It would be hard to top Liam Gallagher’s biblical Knebworth Park shows, which proved to be some of the biggest live events of 2022.

“But the always ambitious icon has once again excelled himself with news of a tour that will be bigger than biblical. Liam will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of Oasis’s all-conquering and massively influential debut album by embarking upon the ‘Definitely Maybe 30 Years’ arena tour in 2024.

“The tour will see Liam perform the ‘Definitely Maybe’ album in full for the first time, along with some select b-sides from the era. The sets will of course be packed with classics – ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’, ‘Live Forever’, ‘Supersonic’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, to name but a few.

“But it will also be a rare opportunity to see other album tracks that have rarely, if ever, been performed since the mid-‘90s, including ‘Up In The Sky’ and ‘Digsy’s Dinner’.”

Tickets for the shows will go on sale from Ticketmaster here from 9am on Friday, October 20.
