They’re back

Oasis have confirmed they are reuniting for a huge tour next summer, playing concerts in across the UK and Ireland in July and August next year.

Some 15 years after their last performance together, Noel and Liam Gallagher will be joining back up for a supersonic tour.

Rumours started to swirl over the weekend that the band were definitely, maybe, getting back together after the Times reported that the Gallagher brother had settled their differences.

According to the publication, music industry insiders had informed them plans were being made for the Manchester band to perform once again with multiple dates at Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium.

Then, an announcement was teased for 8am on Tuesday morning by both Liam Gallagher and and the official Oasis social media accounts.

The short clip, which showed the date ‘27.08.24’ followed by ‘8am’ in the same font and style as the famous Oasis logo, was shown after Gallagher’s Reading Festival performance. It was also shared on the Oasis social media accounts.

Liam had also spent the weekend cryptically replying to people on X after rumours of the reunion first emerged.

Now, the band have revealed exactly what that announcement was, and the rumours were true: they’re getting the band back together.

Oasis said: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

Oasis confirmed the dates and venues for a huge reunion tour in summer 2025, which included four dates at both Wembley Stadium in London and Heaton Park.

The band will also be playing dates in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin over July and August next year.

The full set of dates is as follows:

  • Cardiff Principality Stadium – 4th/5th July
  • Manchester Heaton Park – 11th/12th/19th/20th July
  • London Wembley Stadium – 25th/26th July & 2nd/3rd August
  • Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium – 8th/9th August
  • Dublin Croke Park – 16th/17th August

It’s been 30 years since their debut album Definitely Maybe topped the charts and launched the Gallaghers to worldwide stardom.

A cornerstone of the Britpop era, Oasis went on to release their acclaimed sophomore album ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’ and played two mega concerts at Knebworth, which saw some 2.5 million people apply for tickets.

Since their split in 2009 following a backstage brawl between the brothers at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, both have followed their own separate paths.

Noel went on to front his group Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, whilst Liam has forged a successful solo career.

It remains to be seen whether any of the bands other previous members will be joining the Gallaghers for the 2025 tour. Multi-instrumentalist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs has recently toured with Liam, but drummer Tony McCarroll and bassist Paul McGuigan have not played with either Gallagher since Definitely Maybe and 1997’s Be Here Now respectively.
