A powerful image.

Fresh from a series of incredibly well-received gigs in Dublin of late, U2 were in Paris last night for a concert that had been postponed in the wake of the tragic Paris attacks last month. The band had dismissed reports before the gig that they would be supported by Eagles of Death Metal, who had been performing in the Bataclan Theatre, the scene of the greatest number of fatalities, during the attacks. They were joined at the AccorHotels Arena on stage by the great Patti Smith, who performed Gloria and People have the Power with Bono and company, while the band also paid tribute to all of the victims of the attacks by displaying their names on a giant screen in the colours of the French flag.
