Pics: Grandmaster Flash has been getting a lot of attention from grandmothers on Facebook lately. Here’s why

We’re pretty sure this is the first and only time we’ll use the words ‘Grandparents’, ‘Facebook’ and ‘Grandmaster Flash’ in the same sentence.

Much as we love them and much as we don’t like to stereotype here, plenty of us will have had experience of older relatives of ours struggling to adapt to and cope with modern technology and as a result, they’re probably more prone to the perils of auto-correct than others.

Occasionally, it can manifest itself in hilarious fashion, as has been the case in the US lately where a number of grandmothers have been accidentally tagging hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash on Facebook because, thanks to auto-correct, his name frequently appears when people attempt to type Grandma instead.

Thanks to this rather charming but also hilarious error, the man known to his own mother as Joseph Saddler has received plenty of accidental correspondence from Grandmothers from all over and a Tumblr site named Love, Grampa and Grandmaster Flash has been collecting some of the best of them. If you’re like us, you’ll get a great kick out of these.

The man himself is well aware of what’s going on and last night, he invited fans of his own page to come up with some of their best offerings about their own grandmothers by replacing the word ‘Grandmother’ with ‘Grandmaster Flash’. You can see all of the responses here and you should really have a look because some of them are excellent.
