And now the end is near…

The votes are in. We have our final five. And now it all comes down to what they can do in the grand final of the Le Crunch Apple of Your Eye Song Contest.

Five acts, three judges and one winner – that’s what you can expect to see at the final in Whelan’s on Wednesday, 14 March. At the end of the night, one lucky winner will walk away with the title and the €1500 prize money.

We asked you to vote for who you’d like to see in the final, with the two acts with the most votes going forward to the final. The judges then chose the other three finalists from the shortlist of 10 acts.

So without further ado, these are your Le Crunch Apple of Your Eye Song Contest finalists for 2018.

1. The Rush – “Cocoon”

2. Liam Geddes – “Stargazing”

3. Sparkle – “You’ve Got the Love”

4. Dan Elliott – “Nothing Compares 2 U”

5. Perfect Friction – “All I Want” (as Gaeilge)

It promises to be an amazing night with such a talented bunch of acts giving it their all as they seek to claim the title. The winning act will add their name to an illustrious list of former winners that includes Katie Cassidy and Brave Giant, who will also be performing at the event.

The winner will be chosen by our three judges so all the acts will need to impress with their performance on the night. This year’s judges are Broadcast Director of Maximum Media, Paddy McKenna, Jess Kavanagh of BARQ and singer/songwriter Jack O’Rourke.

The final takes place on the Whelan’s main stage on Wednesday, 14 March from 7pm-9pm. Tickets will be available on site from Friday, 9 March.
