Shane McGowan had to ask Johnny Depp to stop singing at his wedding

Shane McGowan married his fiancee Victoria Mary Clarke in front of an intimate gathering of close friends and family in Copenhagen on Monday. McGowan's fiancee, Victoria, spoke to Ryan Tubridy on his show on RTÉ Radio One, describing the wedding as "beautiful". Clarke also talked about Johnny Depp and his performance at the wedding. The Hollywood star was singing a classic Pogues song, before McGowan intervened and asked him to stop. She said: "Johnny Depp sang. He tried to do 'Rainy Night in Soho' but Shane stopped him. He said, 'Stop I don't want to hear it'. "So then he did 'Astral Weeks', which was absolutely gorgeous." Well, it's good that his second performance pleased McGowan more than the first rendition... She had a good laugh when Tubs asked her if Shane was romantic during the ceremony. She responded: "No - not really. He was his usual self - he hasn't changed at all since we first met." It won't be too long until we hear Shane McGowan's dulcet tones on the radio every time we sit in the car, as 'Fairytale of New York' blares through the speakers ten times a day. Especially given the fact that Christmas FM will be back on the radio this week. We can't wait.
