Slane 2019

Looks like it’s going to be a great occasion.

Last year, the news that rock gods Metallica would be playing at Slane Castle this summer, as part of their world tour, was greeted with giddy excitement by the band’s many fans in this part of the world.

On Thursday, the supporting acts were confirmed, with Ghost, Stiff Little Fingers, Bokassa and Fangclub set to join James Hetfield and company at the iconic on Saturday, 8 June.

If that’s still not enough of an incentive to get yourself a ticket, you should know that every ticket purchased includes a choice of standard physical or standard digital copy of the band’s 10th and current album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct

Tickets from €89.50 including booking fee are available at Ticketmaster.

Metallica’s world tour kicks off on 1 May, at Lisbon’s Estadio Restelo, and it will include 25 WorldWired shows across 20 countries.

The tour includes a good dozen cities not visited on the 2017-2018 legs of their tour, such as Milan, Zürich, Brussels, Berlin, Moscow, Warsaw, Bucharest and Gothenburg, and first ever appearances in Trondheim, Norway, Hämeenlinna, Finland and Tartu, Estonia.

This will be Metallica’s first Irish show in a decade, and it’s sure to be an absolute cracker.
