The Sunday Sessions: Three is the magic number – The Staves perform new tracks

These girls are brilliant.

JOE

As the old saying goes ‘three is the magic number’ and when it comes to British folk group The Staves, that phrase was never truer.

The Staves, which is made up of three sisters Emily, Jessica, and Camilla Staveley-Taylor, released their brand new EP Blood Is Bled just over a week ago.

Best known for their distinctive old school pitch-perfect harmonies, The Staves garnered interest from music fans all over the globe since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Dead & Born & Grown back in 2012.

The trio performed their EP title track live for The Sunday Sessions at The Workman’s Club, Dublin.

The EP Blood I Bled is the first public release of new works by the sisters, the perfect lead-up to their eagerly anticipated forthcoming studio album that is produced by Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon.

The Staves also gave us an exclusive performance of track ‘Open‘, which is also taken from their newly released EP.

For more information you can check out the sisters on Twitter, Facebook and thestaves.com. The band’s brand new EP ‘Blood I Bled’ is available to buy here.

The Sunday Sessions promises to bring you special performances and interviews from some of the most exciting emerging talent. Next week we return with some more phenomenal homegrown talent.
